A man has been arrested and a number of items have been seized following an incident in Ballinasloe.
Gardaí arrested the man after receiving reports received after reports of a man allegedly in possession of a machete at around 8.40am this morning.
After searching a car, Gardaí recovered a machete, hatchet and knife, and arrested a man in connection with the incident.

The man in his twenties is currently being detained at a station in the Garda North Western Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
