Man admits hacking Twitter account of a Local MEP

In a Belgian court yesterday, former European parliamentary assistant Diarmuid Hayes admitted to hacking the Twitter account of Midlands-North West MEP Luke 'Ming' Flanagan.

A local MEP has said him and his family have been put through hell following the conviction of a man who hacked his Twitter account. Mr Hayes posted a tweet from the MEP's account that referred to Irish Green Party candidate Saoirse McHugh as "skinny dipping". Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show, MEP Flanagan spoke about the difficulties he faced in not being able to talk about the incident up until now:
