Man accused of Sligo double murder changes senior council ahead of trial

His trial, which is expected to take up to three weeks, is due to get underway on the thirteenth of November.

A man awaiting trial for a double-murder in Sligo has changed his barrister.

22-year-old Yousef Palani, of Markievicz Heights in Sligo, is accused of murdering Roscommon man Aidan Moffitt on the tenth of April last year.

He's also accused of murdering Michael Snee two days later, and of attempting to murder another man the day before Mr. Moffitt was killed.

At Mr. Palani's request, the judge today granted permission for his original lawyer to step down from the case, and for another senior barrister to take his place.
