Sligo University Hospital is one of the busiest hospitals in the country today. There are currently 40 patients waiting for a bed at the North West Hospital according to the INMO. There are 23 patients waiting on trolleys in the Emergency department and 17 patients in wards elsewhere in the facility.
Those planning on attending SUH today are warned to expect delays. Elsewhere there is only one patient waiting for a bed in both Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe and Mullingar Hospital. Nationally there are 388 patients waiting for a bed in hospitals around the country today.
