The 7.35 Heuston to Westport rail service was delayed by some hours this morning as a result of a strike at a level crossing at Ballymoe.
A lorry damaged two of the gates at the level crossing between Roscommon and Castlerea in an accident around 9 o' clock this morning.
Long traffic delays were also caused by the incident.

The train was able to resume its journey after a lengthy delay.
