M6 Westbound closed this evening following traffic incident

The westbound junction of the M6 Motorway between Athlone and Ballinasloe is currently closed.

The closure comes following a collision earlier this afternoon involving a truck.

The route is being closed to allow the vehicle to be removed and is due to re-open in the late evening.

Local diversions will be in place and road users are asked to take alternative routes.
