M6 Westbound closed between Athlone-Monksland and Shannonbridge

Gardaí are advising motorists that a section of the M6 motorway near Athlone is currently closed

Both lanes going Westbound between Junction 13 Athlone-Monksland and Junction 14 Shannonbridge are closed to traffic.

This is to facilitate the recovery of a truck that crashed overnight.

Local diversions are in place and motorists are advised to follow directions.
