Longford and Westmeath Education and Training Board has been granted conditional planning permission for significant development at Templemichael College.
The development will consist of a new single-story extension consisting of a two-classroom special needs unit, and a new standalone two-storey gym building.
Works will also include the removal of part of the existing boundary hedge and existing trees for a new side entrance from Templemichael Terrace.

The existing soccer pitch will also be relocated and additional car parking will be added to the site.
Longford County Council has given the go ahead for the development subject to 13 conditions.
