Low take up locally of 3rd Covid booster vaccine

Just over 8% of people in the Shannonside region have received their 3rd COVID-19 booster vaccine

According to new figures from the central statistics office, the Carrick-on-Shannon MD has the highest booster 3 uptake in the region at 10%

Boyle, Granard, Roscommon, and Ballinasloe all have uptakes of 9%, while Ballinamore and Ballymahon both have the joint lowest uptake at 6%

3% of people in Carrick-on-Shannon also have taken a 4th COVID-19 booster, the joint highest in the region alongside Boyle and Athlone.

Nationally, 96% of Irish employees have received at least one booster vaccine.
