Longford's Lynsey Bennet returns home following cancer treatment in Mexico

Following the resolution of her High Court case over the alleged misreading of her cervical slides, Longford woman Lynsey Bennet travelled to the Hope For Cancer Treatment Centre in Mexico.

Longford woman Lynsey Bennet has returned home from Mexico following specialist treatment for advanced cervical cancer.

The Longford mother of two recently became a household name following a settlement of her high court case with the HSE over the alleged misreading of her cervical smear tests.

Following the case, Lynsey traveled to the Hope for Cancer treatment centre in Mexico for 4 weeks of alternative treatments to help her in her fight against cancer.

According to the Killoe woman, the treatment in Mexico was not about curing her cancer but building her strength to face her upcoming treatment with Pembro, a new immunotherapy drug for cancer patients.

Speaking to the Joe Finnegan show today, Lynsey, who's currently in quarantine, says the trip was a major success for her:
