Ireland is turning purple today for the sixth annual Go Purple Day, to raise awareness about domestic abuse and the supports available.

A Longford support centre is reminding people suffering domestic abuse to reach out.
Ireland is turning purple today for the sixth annual Go Purple Day, to raise awareness about domestic abuse and the supports available.

Data released by An Garda Síochána today show there have been over 17,900 incidents of domestic violence reported so far this year.
That's a 10%  increase compared to the first four months of 2025.
