A Longford woman has been appointed as the new Garda superintendent in the Athlone District.
Michelle Baker, who was previously stationed in Dundalk, takes up the role immediately.
She had also been serving in the Strategic Transformation Office up until her new role

Superintendent David Nolan, who was based in Athlone since October 2020, will now operate in the Mullingar Garda District.
