Longford town will be exempt from new laws aimed at curbing short-term lets and Airbnb.
The Irish Independent is reporting the clampdown has been significantly watered down by the government.
The restrictions were initially going to apply to towns with a population of over 10,000 - but that's now been increased to 20,000.
This means Longford town, where almost almost 11,000 people live, will be excluded.
