There are renewed calls for a ban on greyhound racing.
It comes after Scotland and Wales voted to outlaw the sport last week.
In the past two years, 399 greyhounds were killed on tracks here as a result of injuries sustained while racing.
Longford woman Nuala Donlon is the spokesperson for Greyhound Action Ireland.
She says the real welfare problem is the animals killed off the track as 'wastage':
