A local senator is welcoming an increase in funding allocated to the region to bring vacant social homes back into use.
Over €1.2 million has been earmarked across Leitrim, Longford, and Roscommon.
The funding announced by Housing Minister James Browne this morning comes at a 28 per cent increase compared to last year's allocation.
The €40 million investment will support the refurbishment of approximately 2,200 local authority homes nationwide so they can be returned to active use.
