Hairdressers are expected to increase their prices, with counties Roscommon, Cavan and Monaghan found to be the most expensive in the region for a men's cut.
An Irish Independent survey of 151 independent salons published today reveal the price currently stands at an average of €17.50 in the three counties.
Meanwhile, the cost is lower in Co. Leitrim at €15.50, while the cheapest men's cuts can be found in Co. Longford, at a price of €15.
However, Longford is the most expensive county for a blow dry, at an average cost of €48.
Children's haircuts now average €20 across the country, matching the national price for a men's cut.
Rising product prices, the auto-enrolment scheme and the reduction of the VAT rate to 9% were among the most common reasons given by salons for planned price hikes in the coming months.
