A Longford runner will compete in the final of the World Outdoor Athletics Championships for the first time ever today.
Cian McPhillips, from Ardagh, will take part in the 800m final in Tokyo around 2.20 this afternoon.
His home athletics club, Longford AC, will screen the race live in their building in Longford town.
