Longford records cheapest house prices in the region

The average price of a home in the county rose by 12 per cent, with a 3-bed semi now costing just under €229,000.

Co. Roscommon saw the largest growth in house prices last year.
The average price of a home in the county rose by 12 per cent, with a 3-bed semi now costing just under €229,000.
While in Co. Leitrim, prices increased by 9.1 per cent, having the most expensive apartments in the local market.

An average 2-bed apartment in the county is priced at €169,334.
Co. Longford saw the lowest percentage increase, at 8 per cent, bringing the price of an average 3-bed semi in the county to €225,000, the cheapest in the region.
Nationally, the median price of buying a home was €387,000 last year.
