A Longford mother says her non-verbal son still faces a number of obstacles due a lack of services. Ann O'Leary's 18-year-old son Ben has had no speech therapy since he was five leaving Ann to provide it herself at home. Ben will be soon be leaving school but a place in St Christopher's services has yet to be confirmed. Ann says there are over 300 children on the waiting list for autism support services in the Longford area. She says parents have been left to fend for themselves:

The next phase of Ben's life means there are further obstacles for him to overcome. Ann is hopeful, however, that a place can be secured at St Christopher's Services:
