A Longford man has pleaded guilty to the assault of a garda during an incident in Edgeworthstown last year.
Jonathan Wykes from Lisnanagh near Edgeworthstown appeared before a sitting of Longford Circuit court this morning.
On the 24th of April 2020, Garda Brian Carroll along with a colleague conducted a planned search of a property in the area.

During the course of the search, Jonathan Wykes assaulted Garda Carroll and was arrested.
Appearing before Judge Keenan Johnson this morning, the accused pleaded guilty to a charge of assault causing harm.
He's due back before the court in May, with Judge Johnson ordering a probation report and a victim impact statement to be made in the interim.
