Longford Library was forced to close this morning due to a protest on site.
Two individuals entered the premises adjacent to Longford Shopping Centre after 11am and confronted staff.
They claim the inclusion of certain LGBTQ+ material in the library is inappropriate for children.

Following the refusal of multiple requests from staff to cease filming inside the library, the building was evacuated and staff contacted Gardaí.
Longford Gardaí attended the scene and directed the individuals to leave the area.
Longford Library reopened a short time later.

Local councillor Uruemu Adejinmi is condemning the incident.
