The Longford ESB area has been deemed to be the worst place for power cuts in the country.
Data provided by the Irish Mail on Sunday revealed the area had the highest risk of power cuts last year.
The ESB Longford region includes parts of Roscommon and Leitrim, where 995 outages were counted for the year of 2024.
During these outages, 88,190 customers were affected, out of which just over 41,000 were provided by the ESB.
Among the next-worst hit areas is Athlone, where 946 power cuts were reported in 2024.
Further analysis of the data revealed an average of 50,000 homes and businesses across the country lost power per week, with just under three million blackouts counted.
