A local GP says he expects the number of people in hospital with the flu to continue to rise.
There's been a rise of nearly 500 cases in the last week, with over one thousand and 34 people in hospital yesterday.
Locally, there were 166 people in hospitals across the Shannonside region with the flu yesterday.
Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Longford based GP Paul Trueick believes the peak will come towards the end of this month:
