Co Longford has been allocated half a million more euro in funding this year to go towards housing adaptation grants.
The funding, announced by Housing Minister James Browne this morning, will support older or disabled homeowners to upgrade or repair their homes, according to their needs.
€2.1 million has been secured in grants for the county, out of a total of €6 million across the Shannonside region.

It's an increase of just over €500,000 on last year's allocation for Co Longford.
