Longford Gardaí are warning hauliers of the dangers of improperly maintained vehicles.
It follows a joint operation between the RSA and local Gardaí on the N5 yesterday that saw a vehicle impounded that was in dangerous condition and carrying a heavy load.
Longford/Roscommon Roads Policing Unit seized a HGV with serious structural defects at the checkpoint outside the Bishops Gate football grounds.

The driver and owner will now face court proceedings.
