Longford County Council hopeful for more funding to be allocated

Longford County Council are hopeful for further funding for the county this year after the announcement earlier this week of funding of over 10 million euro for the lower half of Longford Town.

The head of Longford County Council is hopeful that further significant funding will be allocated to the county later this year.

Over ten million euro was allocated to the 'Camlin Quarter' plan earlier this week by government to help undertake a major regeneration of the lower half of the county town's main street.

It's understood the local authority is also seeking funding to develop a tourism initiative near the Connolly barracks site.
