Bord na Móna has submitted a planning application for the proposed development of 22 wind turbines across counties Longford and Roscommon.
The application was submitted to An Comisiún Pleanála and Longford County Council.
It would see the erection of 22 wind turbines and a 110kV electrical substation and all associated site works.
These would be developed across 18 townlands in Co. Longford, as well as Ballypheasan in Co. Roscommon.
The proposal was met by opposition from a number of councillors, who voiced their concerns at yesterday's Longford County Council meeting.
Independent councillor Mark Casey believes it's a 'land grab' and will have a 'detrimental impact' on boglands.
Fine Gael councillor Martin Skelly has also slammed the proposal.
