A Longford author has released a new book this week relating to local history.
Longford man Hugh Farrell launched the "Glorious 17th Infantry Battalion" on Friday night in Longford library.
The book traces the history of the 17th Infantry Battalion, which had its headquarters in Connolly Barracks in Longford Town.
It features 300 photographs, as well as documents from the battalion and lists of personnel.
