Longford and Leitrim record lowest levels of blood donation in 2021

According to the IBTS, Covid has caused disruption to donation numbers.

Longford was the county with by far the least blood donations last year.

The total number of donations nationwide rose by 3 per cent in 2021 - with nearly 131,000 during the year.

According to freedom of information figures, Longford had only 586 and Leitrim had just 809.
