Daffodil Day is taking place today with many volunteers across the Shannonside region turning towns and villages yellow in support of the Irish Cancer Society.
The annual fundraiser is one of the biggest charity events in Ireland, raising vital funds for cancer research and a range of free services for patients and their families.
In Longford Town, volunteers have been out since early morning collecting donations and raising awareness about the worthy cause.
Over the past number of years, Co. Longford has raised over €60,000 for the charity through Daffodil Day.
