This helps ensure Emergency Departments are available for those who need them most.

If people urgently need to see a GP over the bank holiday weekend, they are asked to contact local out of hours GP service.
The service is open all weekend, but people do need to make an appointment in advance
A service is available in community pharmacies which enables a pharmacist to supply prescription-only medication for several common illnesses, without having to see a GP.
Roscommon injury unit is open from 8am to 8pm every day of the year.
They can help with many of the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries such as broken bones, dislocations, sprains, wounds, scalds and minor burns.
