A local TD has welcomed the reopening of a newly refurbished surgical ward at Portiuncula University Hospital.
St John's Surgical Ward is located on the first floor of the hospital comprising seven single rooms, two semi-private rooms and four multi-bed rooms.
It is the hospital's only acute surgical inpatient ward.
The refurbishment includes state-of-the-art facilities, which hospital manager James Keane says will better accommodate surgical patients and help staff deliver higher-quality care.
