Long-awaited works at a dangerous junction in Roscommon will go ahead in the new year.
The junction in Frenchpark has been the scene of a number of accidents in recent years.
The contract to complete the works is set to be awarded in early January and work is expected to commence at the end of the month.
Local Sinn Féin TD Claire Kerrane said it was welcome news following a long wait for a traffic solution in the village.
Speaking to Shannonside News, Deputy Kerrane said the works were long overdue:
