The Minister for Finance is being urged to use his influence on insurance companies to ensure people can receive a quote for mortgage protection.
Sligo Leitrim TD Marian Harkin has highlighted cases in which people with certain underlying health conditions are being refused a quote due as they pose a greater risk if they contract Covid 19.
Even when people have secured a quote from a UK company, the bank has then refused it. Deputy Harkin says using Covid 19 risk as a grounds for not giving a quote is unacceptable and the Minister needs to intervene::
