A local TD says members of the community have offered voluntary labour to bring a local nursing home chapel back into use. The chapel at the Sacred Heart Nursing Home in Roscommon town has been closed for the past 18 months due to fire safety concerns.
Roscommon-Galway TD Martin Daly says the fire safety report has not yet been disclosed by the HSE. He's calling for a fire safety review to be carried out by an engineer. The Fianna Fáil TD says local volunteers would be willing to carry out the upgrade works if possible:
