A local TD has highlighted the need for more investment in apprenticeships.
Sligo-Leitrim TD Marian Harkin told the Dáil that an increase in construction workers in the only way Ireland will meet it's optimistic housing target.
The Independent TD said apprenticeships are essential for achieving this as well as developing renewable energy.
