A local TD has called for further investment in public and private nursing homes.
Longford-Westmeath TD Micheal Carrigy made the call in the Dáil yesterday during statements about nursing homes in Ireland.
It comes following an RTE investigates programme which looked into the care of patients at two nursing homes in Dublin and Laois.
