The Shannonside region has seen a surge in the number of people in court for driving under the influence of drugs this year.
Carrick-on-Shannon saw a 50 per cent rise from 14 to 21.
In Longford, there were only 14 in all of last year - but that rose to 76 between January and October this year.
While there was a 133 per cent increase in Roscommon, from 9 to 21.
