A local Senator has hit back at claims Brazlian beef is being used in Irish school meals.
Elected members from the Midlands North West addressed the Seanad ahead of Ireland's upcoming Presidency of the European Council.
Among those, Ciaran Mullooly called for clarity on the use South American meat imports.
Brazilian beef faces an EU ban from September, unless the country meets rules on antibiotic use in animals.
Senator Paraic Brady was among those to challenge MEP Mullooly's comments.
