Local senator challenges NTA over lack of catering on north west trains

It's been five years since the so-called tea trolley was withdrawn due to the pandemic - and since then it's returned to specific train lines but not across the network.

The National Transport Authority says there is no money to provide a catering service on local rail services.

Last year Irish Rail said it would be available nationally by the end of 2024 - but it didn't happen.

Sligo-Leitrim Senator Nessa Cosgrove started a petition last month calling for the re-introduction of the service.

The Labour Party Senator says she won't accept the NTA's response that there's no money to provide a catering trolley.
