A local RNLI crew is urging people to make the phone call if there are emergencies in the water.
Lough Ree RNLI was recently part of a lake rescue mission while out on a training session.
They were undergoing a three hour training session at Coosan Point last Tuesday, when a man on board a 29 foot steel cruiser ran aground off Coosan Point at 7.40pm
Members were able to respond within two minutes, and no injuries were reported.
