Local motorist arrested for speeding on National Slow Down Day

Gardaí carried out the targeted campaign across Thursday and into Friday Morning, and caught over 900 drivers breaking the speed limit.

A motorist is to face court after Roscommon Gardaí recorded him travelling 50 kilometres over the speed limit.
Six motorists were arrested during the first National Slow Down Day of the year.
Three were detained on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, with the other three arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
