A local TD has called for more funding for road networks. Sligo-Leitrim TD Frank Feighan told the Seanad the improvement and maintenance of the regional and local road network is the responsibility of each local authority.
The Fine Gael Minister said the costs of maintaining roads has gone up since 2021. He said local authorities might need to target funding at particular problem areas:
