Trump's tariff announcement for the EU is a 'serious threat to leading Irish brands in the US.'
That's according to local MEP Ciaran Mullooly, who is calling for intervention from the Irish government to combat a potential tariff war with the United States.
It comes as President Donald Trump has declared the EU and Mexico will face 30 per cent tariffs for goods imported to the US by the 1st of August.
Tánaiste Simon Harris said the EU will remain focused and united as negotiations continue between now and the cut off date.
