MEP Luke 'Ming' Flanagan says Castlerea is dangerous without a fire station - despite claims from the Local Government Minister. The west Roscommon station closed eight years ago, but last week Fianna Fáil TD Martin Daly said it urgently needs to reopen.
Minister James Browne then defended the level of fire cover in the area, with five fire brigades in Co Roscommon. But Ming, who lives in Castlerea, also believes the station should reopen:
