A local MEP has offered to act as an intermediary between the Government and fuel protestors. Ciaran Mullooly says he's willing to fly home from Brussels in a bid to end the current nationwide blockades. The Midlands Northwest MEP was speaking after the Taoiseach denounced the protests as 'beyond the pale'. Hauliers, farmers and contractors have blocked major routes and fuel depots for a third day. Mullooly has put himself forward as a mediator:
