Current levels of medical waiting lists locally continue to exceed their targets.
New waiting list figures for Sligo University Hospital in July published the National Treatment Purchase Fund do show a decrease in inpatient numbers.
However, there has been a sharp rise in outpatient numbers to almost 14,000.
The department of health say it is anticipated that the increases in waiting list volumes will stabilise and some positive signs are evident in the most recent figures.
