Local house prices continue to rise

The Central Statistics Office has published the latest Residential Property Price Index.

New figures have shown a sharp rise in median property prices in the Shannonside region over the past year.

The Central Statistics Office has published the latest Residential Property Price Index.

County Roscommon recorded one of the strongest increases year-on-year.

The median price there rose from 190,000 euro in 2025 to 220,000 euro in 2026.

Leitrim also saw a notable rise in values.

The county's median property price climbed from 180 thousand last year to 215 thousand euro this year.

While in County Longford, the increase was more modest but still evident.

Median prices moved from 192 thousand 500 euro n 2025 to 200 thousand euro in 2026,

The region outside of Dublin that saw the largest growth in house prices was the Midlands, which includes Longford at 13.4%.

Over the last twelve months, the Castlerea F45 Eircode recorded the lowest median price by Eircode nationwide, with homes changing hands at an average of 150 thousand 500 euro.
