Local hospitals are under pressure today with a number of patients waiting for a hospital bed. Sligo University Hospital is busy today with 40 patients waiting on trolleys.
Meanwhile, Portiuncla Hospital in Ballinasloe is also busy with 8 patients waiting for a bed as of this morning. University Hospital Limerick accounts for the largest number of people waiting for beds, with 123, followed by Cork University Hospital.
