A number of local hospitals are among two-thirds nationally operating at unsafe bed occupancy levels.
The national level for the first half of the year was 95-point-9 per cent, up from 94-point-2 per cent in 2024.

Sligo University Hospital saw levels of 97 per cent in 2024, rising to 99 per cent in 2025.
The Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore also hit 99 per cent in 2025, up from 2024's figure of 96 per cent.
While the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar also saw a rise from 95 per cent to 98 per cent in twelve months.
31 hospitals had rates higher than the recommended limit, however the figures don't include Galway University Hospital, according to The Irish Times.
